This Privacy Policy explains how the Anime Handle Generator (the "Tool"), operated by gethandlenames ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit anime.gethandlenames.com/anime-names/ (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

The Tool itself does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name or email. We collect the following automatically when you use the Site:

Usage data: pages viewed, buttons clicked, approximate country (derived from IP), browser type, and device type. This is collected via Google Analytics and/or similar analytics providers.
Cookies and similar technologies: small files placed on your device that help the Site remember your preferences and that advertising partners use to deliver and measure ads (see Section 4).
Local storage data: if you use the "Save" feature on a generated name, the saved name is stored only in your own browser via the browser's localStorage API. It is not sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time via the "Clear all" button on the Site or your browser's site-data settings.

2. How we use information

We use the information collected to:

operate, maintain, and improve the Tool;
understand aggregate usage patterns so we can prioritize features;
detect, prevent, and address abuse, security, or technical issues;
display advertising (see Section 4);
comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the names you generate to identify you.

3. Third-party advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads on this Site. Google may use the data collected (including your IP address, browser type, pages visited on this Site and other sites, time of day, and ad interactions) to:

determine which ads to show you;
measure ad performance;
build an interest profile for personalized advertising (ads tailored to your inferred interests) unless you reject this — see Section 5 on our cookie consent banner.

Google AdSense may also set or read cookies from third-party ad networks that participate in Google's certified ad networks. The full list of vendors and partners is published by Google and is available in the in-page consent banner.

4. Other third parties

The Site loads the following optional third-party assets:

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) — used to load the Quicksand / Poppins / Inter font family. Google may log requests to these endpoints. See Google's cookie policy for details.

No other third-party trackers, analytics, or advertising platforms are loaded on this Site.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will see a cookie consent banner on your first visit. The banner lets you:

Accept all — load all cookies, including ad personalization.
Reject non-essential — load only strictly necessary cookies; no personalization, no ad measurement cookies.
Customize — toggle categories individually.

Your choice is stored in localStorage on your device for 12 months. You can change your mind at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law.

If you are outside the EEA / UK / Switzerland, we still show the banner on first visit and respect your choice.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights regarding your personal data:

access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (if any);
object to or restrict processing;
request portability of data you have given us;
withdraw consent at any time (for consent-based processing);
lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

7. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact hello@gethandlenames.com and we will delete it.

8. Data retention

Server-side logs: retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging, then deleted.
Aggregated analytics: retained for up to 26 months in anonymized form.
Your locally-saved names: stored in your browser's localStorage only; we never see them. They remain until you click "Clear all" or clear your browser's site data.

9. International transfers

Some of our service providers (notably Google) may process your data outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated via a banner on the Site for at least 30 days.
